Job Description

Clinical Therapist (Part-time Temporary)


ABOUT THE CWC:

CCADs Counseling & Wellness Center (CWC) is seeking an energetic and creative mental health professional to fill the role of Part-Time Clinical Therapist (Temporary). The CWC staff is a highly collaborative and cohesive team. We provide high quality compassionate mental health services for students and collaborate with community partners to implement relevant and engaging outreach and training programs. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but is not limited to the following):

Direct service responsibilities primarily include carrying an ongoing caseload for individual therapy and engaging in brief triage and problem-solving therapy and crisis response. The Part-Time Clinical Therapist may be asked to assist in the development and implementation of wellness programming training and consultation for the CCAD community. Percentage of time spent in job duty responsibility categories may shift based on current needs of the CWC. Typical hours of operation are between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday with potential moderate flexibility.


This is a temporary employment position with opportunity to be renewed based on professional and organization fit and needs of the organization. Anticipated start date will be August 1 2025 thru May 31 2026.


JOB DUTIES (include but are not limited to the following):


Direct Service

  • Provide individual therapy for students consistent with CWCs scope and mission including biopsychosocial DSM-V-TR diagnostic assessment
  • Provide intake sessions triage and problem-solving sessions and crisis intervention response.
  • Engage in case management for continuity of care and linkage/coordination with CCAD and community resources
  • Consult with faculty staff family/support people and students with regard to student mental health or behavioral concerns and support
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics laws and protocols of the CWC

Administration

  • Complete all clinical documentation within the electronic records system (Titanium Schedule) according to CWC standards
  • Participate in regularly scheduled CWC team meetings
  • Maintain professional development to stay knowledgeable regarding college mental health changing trends best practices legal and ethical issues or specific populations/clinical considerations
  • Assist in other administrative functions or tasks as requested

Outreach Programming

  • If time and scheduling allows assist other CWC or Student Affairs staff with the execution of wellness-oriented outreach programming for the CCAD community

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have completed at least a masters level program in a mental health field
  • Are licensed or license-eligible in the state of Ohio to practice as an LPC LSW MFT or psychologist. Please consult Ohio counselor/social worker/MFT or psychology board for licensing information.
  • Evidence strong therapeutic risk assessment and crisis intervention skills
  • Are able to deliver engaging and innovative outreach wellness or training programming
  • Demonstrate a record of teamwork and creativity
  • Are able to operate within an electronic record management system (Titanium) and demonstrate technology literacy and competence
  • Are self-motivated and able to work within flexible and fast-paced environments
  • Are down-to-earth and highly relatable with college students in therapeutic and programmatic contexts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have experience working in a collegiate setting
  • Independent license in the state of Ohio to practice as an LPCC LISW IMFT or psychologist.
  • Demonstrate appreciation and knowledge of the process of intersectional identity development
  • Have experience and competence in the treatment of trauma-related comorbid or severe mental health concerns
  • Experience and competence in working with people of color
  • Experience and competence in working with LGBTQIA identifying individuals especially clients identifying as transgender gender-queer/fluid non-binary or other gender identities

EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT AND COMPENSATION:

This is a temporary part-time employee position with a contract period spanning the 2025-2026 academic year (August-May). The temporary employment position will have an anticipated start date of August 1st and May 31st with possibility for renewal for the following academic term. Work time is expected to be approximately 20 hours (with potential flexibility) per week during fall and spring semesters excluding spring break. *Compensation rate is $35 per hour.

Part-time employees are eligible to make voluntary deductions into the 403B TIAA Retirement Plan. CCAD employment does offer free campus parking and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art. CCAD and the CWC provide a flexible creative work environment.
