About Us:
Best Foot Forward is a nonprofit organization based in Boca Raton dedicated to supporting foster and at-risk students in Palm Beach County.
We are currently seeking 8-12 Academic Coaches to join our team! This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference!
Details:
- Job Type: Full-time (40 hours) and Part-time (28 hours per week) positions available
- Schedule: Monday - Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM (flexible within that window)
- Location: Various schools across Palm Beach County (reliable transportation required)
- Compensation: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly rate
- Note: Our part-time position is not designed to supplement a full-time teaching position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one academic coaching to middle and high school students
- Support students in developing organizational study and learning strategies
- Track and review student grades on a weekly basis
- Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to support student success
- Support students in developing organizational study and learning strategies
- Utilize various teaching techniques to match a students learning style
- Identify learning patterns and address academic challenges
- Assist students with assignments and secure tutors as needed
- Use incentives and goal-setting strategies to motivate student progress
Qualifications:
- Teaching experience strongly preferred
- Bachelors degree required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Highly organized detail-oriented and patient
- Ability to work confidentially and exercise discretion
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
