You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAssumes responsibility for cleaning and storing supplies and equipment putting up sterile supplies and operating the autoclaves. Maintains quality controls for the sterile supply area. Refills trays as needed. Takes call to cover the needs of the Surgical Services Department. Calls sales representatives to get equipment and supplies for cases when needed. Communicates any instrument needs with unit leadership team members. Communicates any potential conflicts due to instrumentation with unit leadership team members. Assist other departments in sterilization practices and instructs them on best practices.
Education and Formal Training: High School diploma or equivalent and CCS certification.
Will have current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date.
Work Experience: Previous CCS/OR experience desired.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required: Through knowledge of principles of asepsis. Also must have thorough knowledge of patient assessment techniques treatment techniques and the operation and maintenance of all unit-specific equipment. Must demonstrate an ability to respond to changing workloads and to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations when time is critical. Must demonstrate an even temperament tact sensitivity sound judgment and a professional attitude. Further must have the ability to work effectively with others; maintain knowledge of
current trends; insure that all contracts with patients the public physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly courteous and considerate manner
