St. Louis Catholic School is seeking a full-time PowerSchool database manager. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of the schools student information system impacting various administrative and operational aspects of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Data Management:
- Oversee the management of student information within PowerSchool ensuring accuracy and completeness of data like demographics schedules attendance grades and records.
- Manage student entry and withdrawal processes including enrolling new students processing records and withdrawing departing students from the system.
- Maintain student cumulative records.
- System Administration:
- Manage and support the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) and other PowerSchool products including configurations data quality audits and user training.
- Perform routine file management tasks like transferring loading archiving and converting data.
- Troubleshoot operational and software problems within the database.
- Recommend system improvements to optimize functionality.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and generate various reports including attendance reports marking period report cards and other academic reports.
- Support the school in financial and regulatory compliance by ensuring accurate data for applicable funding.
- User Support and Training:
- Provide training and support to teachers administrators and other staff on using the PowerSchool system.
- Establish protocols for data entry and system usage and document them in user/procedures manuals.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support student recruitment efforts and coordinate enrollment activities.
- Maintain school-based communications and manage student medical records.
- Potentially assist with other tasks related to office management and operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the PowerSchool SIS and experience in its administration and management is essential.
- Expertise in data entry data quality assurance database maintenance and data management best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel etc.) and comfort with learning new technologies.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage data effectively and analytical skills to interpret data and troubleshoot problems.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with school personnel students parents and outside agencies as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Given the sensitive nature of student data a high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality are crucial.
- A high school diploma is generally required with preference for a degree or experience in a related field.
