The Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing minor repairs on buildings and equipment. Work is generally performed under the guidance and instruction of experienced maintenance mechanics and technicians. Work is performed according to safety planned maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

CED strives to pay a competitive wage in the industry and regional market. The pay range for this position is $20-$26.50 per hour. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist experienced technician with diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the companys physical plant grounds and equipment.
Assist experienced technician with emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Under direct supervision performs basic mechanic assignments including mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines and facility equipment.
Read and interpret equipment manuals blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Learn to diagnose problems replace or repair parts test and make adjustments.
Learn regular preventive maintenance on machines equipment and plant facilities.
Under direct supervision performs a variety of basic plumbing and electrical maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Act as escort to external visitors and vendors following established facility security protocols.
Comply with safety regulations and perform work in a manner consistent with rigorous company safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces tools and equipment.

EDUCATION
Requires a high school diploma or GED
Associates degree or technical school training preferred.
EXPERIENCE
One to two years of experience working within a manufacturing or other industrial environment.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving history
Ability to follow instructions and learn troubleshooting and maintenance skills from experienced peers
Ability to perform assigned work on multiple and concurrent tasks/projects
Able to perform duties in various physical environments and conditions (e.g. indoors outdoors hot/cold areas heights confined spaces)
Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Lifting carrying pushing pulling or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 75 pounds frequently with assistance. Exposure to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles. Work activities require following safe work instructions and appropriate PPE.
