We welcome all applicants who believe that all young people are entitled to an excellent college-preparatory Summary & OverviewThe Food Services Coordinator is a full-time ten-month position reporting to the Managing Director of Operations and Human Resources. This employee ensures: student access to nutritional foods in a warm welcoming and clean environment; smooth and efficient daily operation of the school cafeteria; and adherence to local state and federal Food Services Manager (FSM) is responsible for leading all aspects of the schools food service program ensuring full compliance with federal state and local regulationsincluding the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) School Breakfast Program (SBP) and Massachusetts DESE nutrition standards. The FSM ensures that every student has access to nutritious meals in a safe inclusive and welcoming environment that reflects the schools mission and values. In addition to overseeing daily meal service the FSM manages catering and hospitality for school events works closely with the school nurse to accommodate student dietary needs and allergies and supports school-wide operations by assisting with event setup as You Will DoDistribute pre-packaged meals to students for breakfast and lunch each day following planned menusCoordinate Food Services Administration and Point of pre-packaged food orders with the external food that the food provider is maintaining federal nutritional requirements. Distribute and track monthly billing for student meals (when applicable).Prepare and provide monthly reimbursement Cafeteria and Kitchen organization and cleanliness in accordance with the Board of Health food service supply inventory and request orders as Coordination for student and staff RESPONSIBILITIESAdministrative:Maintain adherence to food safety regulations including board of health compliance and temperature control. Maintain supply inventory with the assistance of the procurement various student information menus on the school Service:Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere Provide opportunities for students to engage in the school meals programMaintain a student service driven philosophy that focuses on value and satisfactionSanitation:Ensure cafeteria and kitchen organization and temperature logs and food safety charts per -meal clean-up as needed. Financial Management and RecordkeepingProvide monthly reimbursement Staff Accountant in regards to budget procurement procedures as outlined by DESENutrition and Menu Planning/Food Production:Place food orders in accordance with the requirements of our food that the menu meets federal nutritional requirements. Ensure adequate options for those with special dietary meal components are handled safely and are accessible to students during scheduled meal times. Computer Technology:Use POS to track daily and monthly sales student data as reports for compliance claims and state data. DESE Nutrition Department Compliance:Complete applications and reporting as outlined by in any necessary training and audits as dictated by DESE or local state and federal Coordination: Place orders for hospitality/catering for meetings and special and serve food for special school and be present at evening events as belief in our mission and vision: that all students can achieve at high levels. Commitment to the mission of educational equity.2 or more years of experience working in educational food Degree in Food Service Management Hospitality or related field; candidates with relevant experience from education public or private sectors will be expertise with computer information and data management systems. including Office Google Apps and experience with or the ability to learn the student information organizational verbal and written communication skills.
