Job Description

We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychologist at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor (Clinician Track) to join our clinical faculty and serve on our clinical team. The primary role and responsibility will be in UT Southwestern and Childrens Health Center for Autism Care a collaboration between UT Southwestern Medical Center and Childrens Health providing comprehensive interdisciplinary care to children with Autism Spectrum and related neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. The Center maintains a multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment service including providers from the following disciplines: psychiatry psychology neuropsychology neurodevelopmental neurology speech pathology behavior analysis and social work. This position provides direct patient care to children and adolescents with autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Additionally the role includes participation in interdisciplinary diagnostic evaluations of children suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder from 1-18 years of age with a special focus on early diagnosis (0-3).

The ideal candidate will have direct patient care experience with assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. The position includes opportunities for supervision of psychology interns psychiatry residents child and adolescent psychiatry fellows pre- and post-doctoral trainees and participation in the overall academic mission of the department. Involvement in research is encouraged and many opportunities exist for collaborative research and involvement in our APA accredited doctoral and internship programs in Clinical Psychology.

Eligible candidates must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or School Psychology from an APA accredited program and internship. Highly competitive candidates will have experience in providing bilingual assessments and Spanishspeaking candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. It is expected that the incumbent will seek board certification after their appointment.
