Job Description
Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic educator looking to make a real impact in the lives of young children Welbourne Avenue Nursery & Preschool a beloved nonprofit nestled in the heart of Winter Park FL is seeking dedicated teachers and staff to join our close-knit team. Serving the community since 1927 Welbourne has built a strong legacy of nurturing early childhood development through a holistic hands-on curriculum that blends play-based learning with academic enrichment. We care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old offering programs in both English and Spanish and participate in Floridas VPK and School Readiness (4C) programs to support families of all backgrounds. Our center features unique learning environments including a music enrichment program and an outdoor Kinder-Garden classroom that fosters creativity and exploration. As part of our team youll be supported in your professional growth and surrounded by a warm collaborative community that values every child teacher and family. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday Friday 9 am 6 pm. The starting rate of pay is $17 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is an onsite position at our center located: 450 W Welbourne Avenue Winter Park FL 32789

The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities implements a curriculum that prepares children for school and enhances their pre-reading pre-math language and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role youll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment create fun-filled learning activities and support the growth and success of children.
What Youll Do:
Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching
Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social cognitive and emotional growth
Follow all facility policies and state regulations
Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
What We Need from You:
High school diploma / GED or degree in a related field of study required
DCF 45 hours with VPK Endorsement Required
FL DCF Transcript Please send transcript to You can retrieve
the transcript from CDA Preferred
Must clear a full DCF background check
At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience
CPR First Aid and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
