Be part of Suncorps Environment & Climate team and help drive meaningful climate risk insights across the business. As the Climate-Related Risk Senior Advisor you will support the delivery of climate scenario analysis focused on transition risks and play a key role in integrating these insights into Suncorps risk management frameworks and strategic planning processes.

What youll do

  • Contributing to qualitative climate-related risk heatmapping to enable periodic horizon scanning for climate-related risks and opportunities in collaboration with internal business stakeholders including working closely with risk teams to ensure completeness and consistency.
  • Supporting and contributing to the development of Suncorps approach to climate scenario analysis ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements industry standards and consistency across Australia and New Zealand. Business lead for third party audit providers for limited assurance against the transition risk climate scenario analysis work.
  • Supporting and contributing to strategic climate scenario analysis initiatives including its integration into risk management and strategic decision-making activities. Engaging relevant teams to provide decision-useful insights for integration into the business and strategic planning cycles. Embed into existing risk frameworks as inputs into Suncorps climate resilience assessment.
  • Staying across the latest industry developments and best practice on climate risk & scenario analysis considering potential impacts on insurance.
  • Supporting external disclosures with climate scenario analysis input for transition risk.
  • Support claims and procurement teams with their repairer/supplier engagement activities tracking alignment to best practice engagement principles.

What youll bring

  • Minimum Bachelors degree
  • Demonstrated interest or recent experience in climate-related reporting sustainability financial reporting strategy actuarial or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to convey complex climate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Strong research abilities to stay informed about evolving climate reporting standards and best practices.
