Groundskeeper

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and safety of campus grounds. Duties include lawn care landscaping debris removal and seasonal maintenance. The ideal candidate is self-motivated safety-conscious and has experience operating commercial grounds equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mow edge and trim lawns using various landscaping equipment including zero-turn mowers (must-have experience)

• Perform trimming pruning and edging of bushes shrubs and trees

• Clear walkways and grounds of debris litter and leaves

• Conduct seasonal tasks including snow removal salting leaf raking and mulching

• Operate blowers trimmers hedge clippers and other power tools safely

• Assist with minor outdoor repairs and maintenance as needed

• Monitor grounds for hazards and report issues promptly

• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Must have hands-on experience operating a zero-turn mower

• Must have experience with trimming (string trimmer/weed eater)

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Basic understanding of landscaping tools and equipment maintenance

• Dependable detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening (if required by the college)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in groundskeeping landscaping or property maintenance

• Familiarity with seasonal grounds duties (e.g. snow and ice management)
