This role is critical for establishing and maintaining enterprise-wide data governance within Google Cloud (GCP) with a focus on Dataplex and Data Catalog.
Job Description:
The Data Governance Manager is responsible for implementing a scalable data governance framework within the Google Cloud environment. The role focuses on defining data standards ensuring compliance improving data quality and security and supporting organizational decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a scalable data governance framework (policies standards best practices).
- Ensure data quality security and compliance through KPIs audits and regular assessments.
- Manage metadata using Google Cloud Dataplex and Data Catalog; implement automated data curation and cataloging practices.
- Maintain business glossary and data dictionary.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and IT teams; lead data stewardship initiatives.
- Monitor and report key governance metrics and compliance to senior leadership.
- Conduct training and support programs on data governance principles and tools.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in data governance data management or related domains.
- Proficient in Google Cloud Platform especially Dataplex and Data Catalog.
- Deep understanding of data governance principles and regulatory requirements.
- SQL expertise.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling.
- Experience in energy or pipeline industry.
- Certifications in data governance or GCP technologies.
- Experience with project management frameworks.
