Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Senior Systems Engineer (SE3) with deep expertise in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and algorithm evolution. This role is critical to ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient in the face of emerging quantum threats. The ideal candidate will lead the design integration and implementation of quantum-resistant architectures working closely with cross-functional teams to modernize cryptographic frameworks and future-proof mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and translate user requirements into secure scalable system architectures that incorporate PQC principles
Lead the design and integration of quantum-resistant algorithms into existing and new systems ensuring compliance with DoDAF and SOA frameworks
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments related to quantum computing threats and mitigation strategies
Develop and maintain system engineering documentation including System Engineering Plans Requirements Specifications and Interface Control Documents
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement cryptographic agility and ensure systems are prepared for post-quantum transition
Guide development of simulation models and prototypes to evaluate quantum algorithm performance and system impact
Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) design reviews and program reviews to ensure alignment with evolving cryptographic standards
Support the development of Information Assurance (IA) strategies incorporating PQC mechanisms (e.g. lattice-based hash-based multivariate polynomial cryptography)
Stay current with NIST PQC standardization efforts and integrate approved algorithms into system designs
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary teams
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in System Engineering Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Science Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity
Note: Five (5) additional years of SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelors degree
Additional Skills & Abilities:
Minimum 20 years of systems engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on cryptographic systems or algorithm development
Demonstrated experience with PQC algorithm implementation cryptographic protocol design or quantum threat modeling
Familiarity with NIST PQC candidates and transition strategies
Strong understanding of system security engineering including FIPS 140-3 CNSSP-15 and NSA Suite B/C
Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB Python or C/C for algorithm prototyping and simulation
Experience with DoD acquisition lifecycle JCIDS documentation and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes
