Job DescriptionSummary:
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week travel contract. This role supports general and OB/GYN ultrasound imaging across inpatient and emergency settings. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience and be comfortable working both day and night 12-hour shifts with weekend coverage every other week.
Perform high-quality ultrasound exams including general OB/GYN small parts and limited vascular studies.
Conduct imaging procedures such as paracentesis thoracentesis and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
Operate GE ultrasound machines and utilize PACS and Epic systems for documentation.
Provide imaging services in various hospital settings including ER NICU and outpatient as needed.
Ensure patient safety verify orders and follow departmental imaging protocols.
Collaborate with radiologists and care teams for optimal diagnostic outcomes.
2 years of recent ultrasound experience in a hospital setting.
ARDMS registered in Abdomen (AB); OB/GYN and Fetal Echo preferred.
Current BLS certification (AHA).
Must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends.
No travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted.
Must be flexible for both day and night shift rotations.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of recent ultrasound technologist experience preferably in ER/NICU and general inpatient settings.
License:
Active ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB) is required. OB/GYN and Fetal Echo (FE) preferred. No state licensure requirement specified.
Skills:
OB/GYN Imaging: 1st 3rd trimester fetal anatomical survey
General Ultrasound: Liver pancreas gallbladder spleen appendix pediatric abdomen/pelvis
Vascular: Carotid Doppler studies lower and upper extremity venous
Renal/Pelvis: Uterus ovaries bladder prostate vaginal
Small Parts: Thyroid breast ultrasound scrotum/testicles superficial masses
Procedures: Paracentesis thoracentesis US-guided biopsies/FNA
Equipment: GE (preferred) PACS
Other Settings: Adult inpatients ER NICU outpatient portables
Additional: Neonatal scanning exposure is a plus
