Job Description

Lead Massage Therapist position delivers professional therapeutic massage and body treatments to guests while ensuring a comfortable and relaxing spa experience.  Lead Massage Therapist will ensure all duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies practices and procedures and Nevada law. This is a bonus/commission hourly rate position.

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  • To rotate the massage therapy books and ensure the rotation policy is followed.
  • To ensure all the room standards required by the Nevada Massage Board are followed and implemented.
  • To train and implement service standards for all massage therapists.
  • To assist with the development of and daily monitoring of massage therapy protocols.
  • To assist in developing procedures and maintaining all operations involving Massage Therapists.
  • To assist in monitoring business levels and to make staffing adjustments if needed.
  • Dispense products and ensure all pars are full.
  • Provide spa guests with a comfortable and relaxing spa experience while ensuring the utmost safety for our guests.
  • Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications (e. allergies high blood pressure and pregnancy) before beginning service.
  • Maintain the highest level of guest service by providing guests with a broad understanding of current massage techniques and
  • Must be qualified and able to perform all treatments
  • Ensure uncompromising level of cleanliness of work area and/or treatment room at all
  • Promote and sell spa/salon services including retail offerings related to the (Sales goals may be required.
  • Informs facility management of any member guest or facility
  • Is knowledgeable about the facility the property and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with
  • Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management
  • To attend hotel operations meetings safety meetings pre-convention receptions and other various committee meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively deal with internal/external guests some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy to diffuse collect accurate information and resolve problems and
  • Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive This involves listening to the nature of the concern demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards. Ability to maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers some of whom will require patience tact and diplomacy to defuse Collect accurate information and solve management concerns.
  • Ability to read write speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction and Ability to relate to all levels of management and employees in verbal/written form.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours other hotel services directions to local attractions or function rooms car rentals airline shuttle service
  • Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity serving as a role model for other Resolve complications and complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation and the most effective solutions. Make decisions and take action based on previous experience & judgment sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.     
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand wrist and arm in order to perform
  • Understands that as a representative of the Spa they will maintain a healthy fit appearance and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to walk/stand and work 100 percent of shift walking a maximum of two
  • Check work area before during and after shift for proper set-up safety and cleanliness.
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time..
  • Ability to lift bend stoop and reach to perform services. Lifting a maximum of 50 pounds to a height of 4 feet on an intermittent basis.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards. Ability to maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance.


    Additional Information :

    Education Requirements:

    • High School diploma or
    • Completion of a minimum 500 hours of Massage training.
    • Any combination of education training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
