Job Description
The Project Support Engineer plays a critical role in assisting the Retrofit Divisions project delivery teams with the technical and operational support required to execute retrofit projects efficiently and to the highest quality.
This individual will provide day-to-day engineering assistance across multiple projects supporting planning design coordination procurement documentation compliance and communication between stakeholders.
Technical & Engineering Support
- Assist in the preparation review and coordination of technical drawings specifications and submittals.
- Support engineering teams with design updates modifications and layout changes during project execution.
- Participate in site surveys and technical assessments to gather data for retrofit solutions.
- Review as-built documentation and ensure alignment with completed works.
Project Coordination
- Track and update project schedules milestones and task lists using project management tools.
- Coordinate with internal departments (design procurement installation teams) to align project timelines and resources.
- Liaise with subcontractors suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery of project components.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs method statements risk assessments and O&M manuals.
- Ensure all technical documentation complies with relevant codes standards and client specifications.
- Assist with QA/QC documentation and project handover packages.
Procurement & Logistics
- Assist in the preparation of materials take-offs and equipment schedules.
- Liaise with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials and components.
- Track deliveries and support logistics coordination for project sites.
Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Support the implementation of site-specific HSE plans and compliance with all regulations.
- Assist in documenting toolbox talks safety audits and incident reports as required.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Electrical Building Services or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in a project engineering or site coordination role ideally within retrofit M&E or building services sectors.
- Technical aptitude in electrical and/or mechanical engineering systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working across teams and with clients.
- Proactive problem-solver with an eye for detail and quality assurance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite AutoCAD and project management software (e.g. MS Project or similar).
- Business level English and German is essential.
Desirable:
- Experience with energy efficiency projects building upgrades or occupied environment retrofits.
- Knowledge of BIM workflows or familiarity with Revit/Navisworks.
- Understanding of building regulations health & safety standards and compliance documentation.
