Job Description

Title: Student Worker - Model Laboratory Early Childhood Development Center 2025-26 School Year

Position Type: Student

Search Type: External - minimum 7 days

Department: 23R200 - P-12 Programming

Division: 3R0000 - P-12 Programming

Position Location: Richmond Campus

Driver Classification: Non-Driver

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Schedule Type:Part Time No Benefits (less than 20 hrs per week)

Hours Per Week: Up to 20

Posted Salary Grade: Minimum of $8.00 per hour

Job Summary/Basic Functions

Student workers will support the Model Laboratory Schools Early Childhood Development Center through direct oversight and interaction with students following daily activities.

The Early Childhood Development Center serves students ages 3-5 from 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily Monday - Friday during the Model School year.
The program is flexible to accommodate university student workers schedules.

Student workers must be self - motivated able to multitask well organized possess superior verbal and written communication and time management skills able to work in small or large groups (students and staff) and provide help with daily activities and all around supervision.

Must be able to meet physical requirements such as standing walking cleaning or lifting up to 40 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a current Eastern Kentucky University Student
  • Eligible for work study
  • Availability for the required hours

  • Organized

Job Duties:

  • 80% - Work under the direction of a supervisor to engage students in indoor and outdoor learning activities including games field trips and working with individuals and groups. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assist students in your care as needed with completion of basic tasks. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Help to maintain a safe and positive learning environment. - (Essential)
