The Laboratory Technician (Solid Splitting) is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately received logged prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties to achieve operational customer and quality requirements.
Reporting to the Supervisor the role will focus on:
- Receive and log in samples accurately.
- Prepare samples for analysis by mixing blending and weighing in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.
- Perform routine analysis validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.
- Ensure external and internal clients requirements are met / exceeded.
- Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.
- Operate calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required.
- Perform quality control tests.
Qualifications :
Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
About You
To be successful for this position you will demonstrate the following experience and characteristics:
- Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of standard office applications especially MS Word and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
On the job training will be provided along with the use of our systems and programs. Previous exposure to a warehouse or laboratory environment would hold you in good stead however our successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
