Plan implement and evaluate a full-service conference operation that serves Atwood Center and the broader St. Cloud State University campus. Consult with internal and external clients to coordinate events conferences and meeting. Generate approximately $100000 annually in revenue by initiating and securing space rental from external clients. Provide leadership and coordination to scheduling and implementation staff for the ongoing implementation of the Atwood Center meeting schedule. Execute facility use agreements for space use. Serve as a resource in the development of university space use policies. Conduct assessment activities for conference/meeting operations to ensure customer service satisfaction and alignment with University mission and learning outcomes. Oversee the use of free speech areas adjacent to Atwood Memorial Center.
Directly oversee one full-time employee and a supervise team a of student employees. Direct and assign work provide feedback for employee improvement and corrective action for full time employees. Hire direct work discipline and discharge student employees. Work includes leading teams to implement events provide quality customer service and providing the structure for meeting and conference intake implementation and invoicing.
Plan evaluate and implement the schedule for major campus events; which may include student organization cultural nights Homecoming and Orientation. Provide leadership and direction with multiple campus partners to coordinate plan and implement events. Evaluate and approve event safety and risk plans for campus events. Coordinate dates and event details with student organizations and campus partners for over 20 annual major campus events.
Provide leadership and direction to the planning contract negotiation and implementation of camp and conference offerings at St. Cloud State University. Provide leadership in contract negotiations and contract coordination for campus-wide camps and conferences. Serve as the university point of contact for the coordination and implementation of camp and conference schedules for external clients.
Additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director for Atwood and Campus Involvement and/or the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment and Student Affairs to meet departmental and University needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business marketing or related field plus 2 years professional experience or Masters degree in Higher Education Administration College Student Personnel Business Marketing or related field plus one-year professional experience.
Qualified experiences include facility and event management conference center operation special event programming college union operations student personnel or related other related experience.
Experience with staff supervision.
Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
Evidence of knowledge of legal issues and risk management in event planning.
Must have the desire to work with diverse groups and individuals.
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated policy development and implementation experience
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving of problems related to computers data projectors A/V equipment lighting systems and sound equipment used for a wide variety of conferences and events.
Experience creating and implementing tools for assessing customer satisfaction and program success.
Other Requirements
Some evenings and/or weekends are required. Ability to set up tables and chairs for conference/meeting setup.
