A leading provider of mechanical contracting services specializing in commercial HVAC design and estimation for new construction and renovation projects is seeking a Commercial HVAC Design Estimator to join its corporate team in Lititz PA.
This role is responsible for estimating and when required: developing HVAC designs performing load and duct calculations and specifying mechanical equipment and systems for design/build and plan/spec projects. The Commercial HVAC Design Estimator will analyze blueprints specifications and proposals to develop cost estimates that align with project requirements and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate MEP systems for commercial industrial and multi-unit residential projects that align with company goals.
- Develop cost-effective conceptual HVAC designs for design/build projects that meet client expectations and budget constraints.
- Create initial sketches and collaborate with BIM/CAD operators for detailed drafting and 3D modeling.
- Conduct thorough design document reviews at various project stages including design development permitting construction and record-keeping.
- Prepare and present detailed written proposals effectively communicating scope pricing and specifications to clients.
- Lead negotiation efforts and maintain continuous follow-up with clients on submitted proposals.
- Engage with owners general contractors architects engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams including other estimators to share resources such as site visits GC relationships and bid calendar updates.
Key Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in HVAC system design and estimation specifically for commercial new construction and renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of blueprints design drawings specifications proposals and project documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Ability to perform value-engineering assessments ensuring efficient and cost-effective design solutions.
- Valid drivers license for travel to project sites or client meetings.
- Ability to provide documentation evidencing identity and employment authorization per Federal I-9 requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook for proposal documentation and cost calculations.
- Experience with Autodesk products or Bluebeam is a plus.
- Knowledge of Trimble Estimation software is preferred.
- Expertise in mechanical plumbing and gas specification calculations and sizing.
- Familiarity with general construction practices and relevant industry codes including the International - Mechanical Code (IMC) and International Building Code (IBC).
