Description
The Deployment Engineer (Message Switch) -migrates upgrades and configures hardware and Tyler software for on-premise and in the cloud customers. Continued growth in ever-evolving infrastructure Hypervisors Server Operating Systems and technology provides an exciting and challenging work environment.
The Deployment Engineer interacts directly with clients to meet and/or exceed stated departmental upgrade goals to stay current with Tyler software versions. Giving customers the opportunity to take advantage of all enhancements and warranty items to improve the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Install Tyler software on Linux servers. (RHEL and AWS Linux)
- Make connections from Tyler servers to State NCIC servers.
- Troubleshoot NCIC inquiries and returns.
- Perform migrations from end-of-life Linux servers to new environments.
- Learn and work with AWS Server Infrastructure.
- Consults with other departments to ensure safe deployment within live customer environments and collaborate with other teams to improve upgrade process.
- Documents result of service work performed for use by internal staff and customers.
- Position may require travel to client sites or off-hours coverage based on customer demand.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in information technology MIS or comparable work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience administering and installing applications on Linux.
- NCIC experience (inquiries and connectivity) is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of server hardware and network configurations.
- Ability to adapt to day-to-day challenges independently or in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive professional attitude.
