Job Description
The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe clean and healthy environment for patients guests visitors and staff of The University of Iowa Health Care. This position will be assigned at our North Liberty Campus.
The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 469000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Cares nationally recognized Orthopedics service line offering comprehensive coordinated and accessible care across the outpatient inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center laboratory services physical therapy retail pharmacy and emergency department as well as an array of support facility has been designed to support a superior patient and staff experience; excellence across our patient care teaching and research missions; convenient access to services; and engaging community Health Care is seeking a welcoming highly-skilled and collaborative workforce to be a part of the opening team for this superb new campus and to help further our mission of:Changing Medicine. Changing Lives.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- General cleaning
- Trash removal
- Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
- Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
- Dusting vacuuming sweeping and damp mopping hard surface floors
- Carpet cleaning
- Unit/bed making
- Wall & ceiling washing
- Furniture moves and room setups
- Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Positionmay have Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Risk.
This position is performed fully on campus.
Percent of time:100%
Schedule: 3rd shift 11:00pm to 7:30am Monday through Friday every other holiday
Salary:$17.31/hour

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to read write and follow directions
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous cleaning experience
- Experience working in a healthcare setting and working with the public
- Experience using cleaning equipment
