Job Description

Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator - Trauma

Work location: Texas Health Dallas 8200 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas TX 75231

Work hours: Full Time/Days; (flexible schedule based on needs); 40 hours per week

*May require travel within the community/region*

Heres What You Need:

Bachelors degree in nursing required

3 years clinical trauma experience in an acute care setting required and

1 year injury prevention or related specialty experience required

RN Registered Nurse upon hire required and

BCLS Basic Life Support required and

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required and

PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days required or

ENPC Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course upon hire and

TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course upon hire or

ATCN Advanced Trauma Care Nurse upon hire

DL Drivers License upon hire

Demonstrated verbal and written ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines and with a variety of distinct constituents. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across and beyond the organization

What You Will Do:

Develop and implement injury prevention programs

Serves as a resource to nursing staff pre-hospital personnel and other outside personnel related to trauma care and injury and violence prevention education

Collaborates with internal and external partners as well as community members to implement multi-level interventions that are aligned with broader IVP efforts and plans

Participates in injury and violence prevention networks such as State planning efforts or coalitions regional trauma advisory committees HHS regional networks court systems or national organizations

Maintains current knowledge and expertise on injury and violence prevention. Ensures that staff have access to relevant training and professional development opportunities

Research and identify evidence-based and/or evidence-informed prevention strategies that respond effectively to the major causes of injury and violence in the community.
