Position Description:
The Technology Clerk is responsible for assisting the Technology Administrative Assistant and for the overall coordination and management of the daily activities of the Technology Department. The Technology Clerk anticipates technological challenges and notifies the Administrative Assistant and the Executive Director of
Technology or the Director of Technology as needed. Regular duties include the electronic entering of technology requisitions and the management of purchase orders and other accusations. Additional duties include the electronic preparation and processing of various reports management of budgets the compilation of statistical data and maintenance of appropriate files and budgets for Technology.

Scope of Responsibility:
- Works closely with the Executive Directors of Technology the Director of Technology and all technology staff members.
- Works under the direct supervision of and closely with the Technology Administrative Assistant to ensure the needs of the department are met.
- Creates a customer service-oriented culture in the Technology Department and the Jefferson Parish Schools.
- Manages the office including clerical activities that involve the routine flow of work correspondence and requests for information as well as coordinating with other departments and activities and ensuring
- Assists with data entry and scheduling
- Inputs purchase orders into the financial system and tracks order status.
- Communicates with schools and departments to follow up on service requests schedule pickups/deliveries or relay information from the Executive Director or Director of Technology..
- Maintains detailed records of technology purchases including order confirmations packing slips invoices and budget tracking.
- Assists with the preparation and maintenance of internal files records and correspondence related to department projects and initiatives.
- Helps coordinate logistics for departmental meetings trainings and special projects.
- Attends training sessions on various software/hardware systems to upgrade knowledge to serve callers better.
- Ensures office supplies and technology-related forms are stocked and available.
- Provides front desk coverage at the Administrative Annex during scheduled lunch periods or as needed.
- Maintains security of electronic and print records with regard to confidentiality budget employee information and student information including passwords that are issued for access to computer systems and databases.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology.
Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two or more years of clerical or administrative support experience preferably in a school district or technical environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint as well as Google Suite (Docs Sheets Gmail Drive).
- Experience with or ability to learn financial and purchasing software such as BusinessPLUS.
- Ability to learn and use help desk inventory and asset management systems.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Willingness to learn basic technology terminology and support processes.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word Excel PowerPoint and the Google Suite.
- Experience at or above the level of a director/principals secretary.
Physical Involvement:
Must be able to operate office equipment. Mobility skills are necessary to access a variety of work locations and/or areas. Sitting is required most of the day. Standing walking reaching bending and lifting up to forty pounds is sometimes required. A portion of the workday is spent reading computer screens.
