Bethel School District is seeking qualified applicants for a 5.5 hour per day Nutrition Services Worker for the Nutrition Services program at Meadow View School.

Nature of Work
A Nutrition Services Worker I is responsible for assisting with the operation of a food preparation and service unit by performing a variety of tasks such as preparing menu items baking serving cashiering dishwashing directing student helpers stocking and shelving wet mopping sweeping and general kitchen clean-up after meals are served. Menu items are generally prepared based on established USDA standards on nutritional content and serving quantities. Employees may be assigned to a specific work area such as food preparation serving or dishwashing. After an initial orientation however an employee may be required to substitute in a different work area than usually assigned. Work may also involve the safe operation and use of a dishwasher garbage disposal stove oven proofer steam table slicer mixer grader and other electrical or mechanical nutrition service equipment.

Supervision
Daily assignments and oral instructions are provided by a Nutrition Service Coordinator. General supervision is provided by the Nutrition Services Manager who reviews the work for the quality of service provided sanitary conditions of the work areas and the safe operation of nutrition service equipment.
Selection Factors
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent. Any combination of experience and training that demonstrates possession of the requisite abilities. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be substituted for the required experience.
Upon offer of employment applicants must obtain a fingerprint clearance from the Oregon Department of Education through a process authorized by the Bethel School District. Applicants would be responsible for the one-time fingerprint clearance fee.
Special Requirements
Possession or ability to obtain an Oregon Food Handlers Card within six weeks after starting work.
