Job Description Project Engineer Skymark Companies The position of Project Engineer is a critical role for Skymark Companies. The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of engineering development and project management for building heavy equipment sold by Skymark Companies. This may include Aircraft Refuelers Refined Fuels Tanker Trucks Crane Trucks Railroad Maintenance Vehicles and various other service vehicles. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: - Custom vehicle mechanical design.
- Developing hydraulic systems including PTO Pump and other component selections flow and pressure analysis schematic and routing layout.
- Developing electrical systems including wire harness design and component selection.
- Developing pneumatic systems including schematics for air valves cylinders and controls.
- Developing structural metal weldments with fabricated sheet metal and machined components.
- Stress analysis with FEA to determine proper materials selection and adequate strength.
- 3D CAD Modeling of components and assemblies used for procurement and Production floor assembly aids.
- Establish chassis specifications and dimensions to achieve proper functionality and weight distribution of final product. In doing so ensure chassis is fit for environment and in compliance with local regulations for end user.
- Verify truck design is compliant with applicable regulations such as DOT FRA NFPA JIG ATA CSA or others as required.
- Research and development of new technologies and products.
- Managing a detailed timeline of the project to ensure all tasks are on schedule and other team members are aware of project requirements.
- Assemble a detailed Bill of materials for each job assigned.
- Create and approve drawings to company standards.
- Display a strong work ethic as required to meet project goals on time.
- Supporting the Customer Service team as needed.
- Supporting the production floor as necessary hands on work may be required.
REQUIREMENTS: - Hands on mechanical experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience.
Location & Work Hours Your primary work site would at 4001 E 149th St Suite B Kansas City MO. At this location the company will provide all work-related tools required to perform your job such as office space telephone computer software etc. Occasionally you would need to travel to assist customers with technical support. You will generally be expected to work from 7:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. From time-to-time you will be required to work additional hours to meet deadlines.
