Job Summary

Brigham and Womens Primary Care Float Pool Physician

Brigham and Womens Primary Care is seeking board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine Physicians to join our Float Pool part-time or full-time. This role covers multiple Brigham Primary Care locations in Greater Boston and surrounding towns ensuring high-quality continuous patient care while allowing for a flexible and rewarding practice experience. Float physicians are not responsible for building a patient panel; this flexible dynamic role offers short-term panel management coverage for clinicians on leave those who have left the practice and/or patients without established care.

An ideal opportunity for physicians who value flexible hours and thrive in delivering care to patients with varied needs across multiple clinical settings. The Float Physician will provide primary and urgent care coverage across multiple Brigham Primary Care locations including Longwood Medical Area Chestnut Hill and Foxborough.

30-Minute Patient Visits Adult primary care visits are scheduled for 30 minutes allowing for thoughtful thorough and effective care.
A Collaborative Team-Based Approach Work alongside a diverse team including physician assistants nurse practitioners medical assistants social workers and care coordinators. Assistance with prescription refills and prior authorization from a central team.
Commitment to Quality & Safety Utilize cutting-edge technology evidence-based practices and population health management strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
Innovation in Care DeliveryWe leverage systematic processes and tech solutions to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows. Virtual AI scribes are available to all physicians to assist in note writing and robust after-hours call coverage.

Float Physicians benefit from:
Flexible Coverage: commit to a certain number of weekly clinical sessions with flexibility on which days and times.
No Panel-Building Required: This role focuses on delivering patient care without the responsibility of building a personal patient panel.
Dynamic & Adaptive Role: Responsibilities include covering for absent providers providing additional clinical support as needed and managing EMR in-basket tasks for patients you see and those of absent providers during coverage periods.
Weekday Outpatient-Only Schedule: No weekends no inpatient responsibilities.
Diverse Patient Population: Work with a broad range of patients while ensuring continuity of high-quality care.
Part-Time & Full-Time Flexibility: Choose a schedule that fits your needsfrom part-time to full-time (up to 8 sessions per week each lasting 4 hours).

Qualifications & Requirements
Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution
Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine Family Medicine or Pediatrics (Med-Peds).
Current or eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Massachusetts including MCSR and DEA.
Experience in outpatient primary care; urgent care experience strongly preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel to multiple Brigham Primary Care locations for short-term coverage.
Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient-centered care.
Excellent communication time management and collaboration skills.
Flexibility to work with diverse patient populations and in varied clinical settings.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Interest or experience in academic and team-based care environments is welcome.
