Job Description
Job Title: Substitute Cafeteria Worker
Reports To: Cafeteria Manager or Child Nutrition Director
Job Type: On-Call / As Needed
Location: Rosedale/Shaw MS
Job Summary:
Assists in the preparation serving and cleanup of meals in the school cafeteria. This position ensures that students and staff are served in a safe clean and efficient manner when regular cafeteria staff are unavailable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food items according to menus and dietary guidelines
- Set up and break down serving areas before and after meals
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment utensils and food prep areas
- Restock serving lines and food stations as needed
- Wash dishes trays and kitchen tools
- Dispose of food waste and maintain trash areas
- Follow instructions from cafeteria manager
- Work cooperatively with other kitchen and school staff
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of food handling and safety practices
- Ability to stand walk bend lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Flexibility to work on short notice
