The use of a particular expression or illustration describing duties shall not be held to exclude other duties not mentioned that are of similar kind or level of TO: Director of Finance and Founder/Executive DirectorGENERAL DESCRIPTION - The Deputy Finance Director will assist the Director of Finance to administer all aspects of the school systems business and facility operations. The primary responsibilities include managing the districts financial accounting system preparing the annual budget and monitoring expenditures preparing and analyzing strategic and longrange planning projections and supervising the finance and human resources staff. QUALIFICATIONS - Degree Required with a concentration in in Educational Administration Business Administration Accounting or Finance preferred. as a School Business Administrator or credentials to satisfy certification requirements of the State of Rhode Island is KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES - Exemplary performance and demonstrated leadership in business and finance school financial management or a school administrative position such as a Director of Finance Director of Finance and Operations School Principal or one of comparable leadership responsibilities. Familiar with MIP/Abila accounting of preparing audit workpapers. Effective communication and listening skills. Experience working in a business or school system with a diverse population. Strong analytical and computer skills required to support data base management forecasting costbenefit analyses and decisionmaking activities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Founder/Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES - Business Services: Assists Director of Finance with:Develops and maintains procedures for managing and monitoring the school systems financial the annual budget in conjunction with the administration and participates in communicating it to the Board of Directors School Executive Director faculty and staff parents and other constituencies. Monitors the monthly budget; prepares monthly financial reports to schools and to Founder/Executive Director and Board of Directors; prepares quarterly projections and periodic analyses as requested by Founder/Executive state and federal financial reports in support of grants and compliance requirements. Directs the competitive bid process and negotiates vendor contracts. Supervises preparation of accounts payable and payrolls. Implements and supervises policies regarding community use of indoor/outdoor implementation of policy and regulations regarding nonresident pupils; collects tuition when necessary. Maintains active liaison with League of Charter Schools Business Managers or other professional business groups. Personnel: In conjunction with the schools Founder/Executive Director the Director of Finance serves in a capacity of Human Resource Officer. Prepares reports proposals and financial analyses as needed. Supervises the districts personnel operations. Administration: Prepares reports for the Executive Director as requested; attends Board of Directors meetings. Assists in systemwide strategic and long range planning; prepares annual enrollment report grade growth projections and census report. Provides support to School Principals and other lead staff as they carry out their business management and operations responsibilities. Attends conferences and meetings related to current school business and personnel Segue at local and/or state meetings as requested. Supervises and evaluates the business support staff. WORK ENVIRONMENT -Must be computer literate; familiar with computer software applications such as word processing spreadsheets and other applications tailored to specific departmental needs. Regularly uses computer keyboard requiring eyehand coordination and finger travel to meetings and other communities. Involves attendance at evening meetings. Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Finance and Founder/Executive Director.

Director
