TITLE: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
QUALIFICATION: 1. High School Diploma and a passing score on the paraprofessional
exam;or an Associates Degree or 60 credit hours; or a Bachelors
degree orhigher.
2. Must possess a valid drivers license.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board find
appropriateand acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To create and maintain a positive stimulating environment for
students topromote a culture of learning. Establish clear objectives
for all lessonsunits and projects and communicate those objectives
to students.
ROLESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the learning procedurein the lesson plans for projects lessons or units assigned by the teacher.
- Make use of instructional procedures and materials which are most suitable for attaining lesson goals
Checkattendance according to the procedures of the school- Ensure an orderly and tidy classroom especially at the end of the day.
- Adhere to all procedures guidelines and policies followed by regular teachers.
- Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents pupils school personnel and members of the public by communicating in a confidential polite and refined manner.
- Follow Board of Education Policies.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to comply with written and/or oral instructions and to communicate them in clear understandable terms.
- Ability to create an efficient working relationship with other personnel
- Skilledin maintaining efficient classroom management.
- Willingness to stand for most hours of the day or sit for extensive periods of time
- Maintain appropriaterelationship with pupils on a daily basis
- Understands the growth and development of students being served.
