Job Description
Job Title: CNC Programmer
Develop and write CNC programs for milling turning or grinding machines using G-code and CAM software (e.g. Mastercam Siemens NX Fusion 360).
Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Select appropriate cutting tools speeds and feeds to optimize production efficiency and tool life.
Simulate programs to verify accuracy and eliminate potential errors before actual machining.
Collaborate with machinists production engineers and quality control teams to ensure program effectiveness and part conformity.
Modify programs based on machine capability setup constraints or feedback from the shop floor.
Maintain organized documentation of CNC programs tool lists and process sheets.
Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues to minimize downtime.
Assist in new product development and prototype machining activities.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain compliance with ISO/AS standards where applicable.
Essential Qualifications:
Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Tool & Die or related field.
Certification in CNC Programming or CAD/CAM is an added advantage.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in G-code programming and CNC control systems (Fanuc Siemens Haas etc.)
Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g. Mastercam SolidCAM EdgeCAM etc.)
Strong understanding of machining processes materials and tool selection.
Ability to read engineering drawings GD&T symbols and tolerances.
Knowledge of CNC machine setup and operation is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
