Position Summary

As an integral member of the Finance team Senior Financial Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial planning reporting and accounting activities for the Procurement and Supply Chain portfolio. They analyze portfolio operations to provide financial insights and recommendations for process improvements and evaluate the financial components of contracts to inform procurement decisions. Working closely with cross-functional teams they ensure accuracy compliance and efficiency in financial operations delivering actionable insights that support strategic business objectives.

Duties 

  • Lead the financial planning cycleincluding annual budgeting quarterly forecasting and monthly reportingby delivering strategic insights that support decision-making across Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Advise portfolio stakeholders by analyzing and interpreting monthly financial performance uncovering trends risks and opportunities.
  • Lead month-end close by preparing and validating journal entries resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Model and analyze the financial components of contracts (e.g. terms pricing structures) to evaluate financial feasibility and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline processes with data-driven recommendations and actionable implementation plans.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to establish or communicate new or changed processes and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to accurately document process adjustments.
  • Contribute to operational and financial initiatives by manipulating and interpreting complex data synthesizing insights and delivering actionable recommendations.
  • Foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders operating with a high degree of professionalism independence and accountability.
  • Perform cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or requested.

Qualifications :

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent financial background with strong analytical acumen and experience
  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent program; MBA is an asset
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years related experience in a financial environment with exposure to analysis and interpretation of complex financial/business data
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI data visualization tools) is an asset
  • Ability to translate operational events and context into financial transaction
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational time management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Ariba is an asset.
