We are looking for a highly skilled and visionary Senior BI Developer to support and develop the modernization of our business intelligence ecosystem. This onsite role in Virginia Beach is ideal for a BI expert with a strategic mindset and strong technical acumen in Power BI and data modelling. You will play a key role in designing scalable analytics solutions driving BI best practices and mentoring junior developers as we transition from legacy platforms to modern self-service BI tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end design development and optimization of Power BI dashboards and data visualizations aligned with business goals.
Collaborate with key business units (e.g. Marketing Finance Supply Chain) to translate complex requirements into maintainable BI solutions.
Architect efficient scalable data models using Snowflake and integrate them with the broader enterprise data architecture.
Partner with Data Engineers Architects and Platform teams to ensure alignment of BI solutions with data infrastructure and pipelines.
Drive the migration from legacy BI tools (e.g. Solver) to Power BI ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.
Lead initiatives around BI governance report rationalization performance tuning and standardization across departments.
Mentor junior BI developers reviewing design approaches and ensuring high standards in code quality and project execution.
Qualifications:
8 years of hands-on experience in BI development with deep expertise in Power BI and advanced data visualization techniques.
Strong SQL skills and expertise in dimensional data modeling especially in large-scale complex data environments.
Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Redshift BigQuery Azure Synapse).
Proven track record of leading cross-functional BI initiatives including stakeholder engagement and delivery management.
Deep understanding of BI governance metadata management and performance optimization best practices.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
