Job Description

SSI is seekinga SeniorSystems Network and C2 Architect Engineer for a role in Albuquerque NM.
You will work in a small highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the programs success. Engineering responsibilities span technology domains including space-rated hardware software sensors and processors in an extremely fast-paced responsive development SETA candidate will assist the government PM in designing planning and documenting network solutions; develop hardware and software requirements to continuously analyze network performance and traffic as well as troubleshoot network issues. You must apply advanced principles theories and concepts for highly classified systems while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist the government Program Manager with network design and implementation throughout the acquisition lifecycle
Leads or supports technical programs projects or tasks whose technical complexity requires engineering oversight
Ensures completion of tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints
Provides input to the government customer concerning risks to performance schedule and budget due to either proposed contractor plans or the contractors execution of accepted plans
Ensure the quality of the program project or task deliverables meets or exceeds standards or metrics and assess such deliverables to ensure that the final deliverables will meet the warfighting purpose forwhich they are intended
Plans and performs engineering research design development and other engineering assignments in conformance with the design engineering and customer specifications
Coordinates with multiple partners/agencies to ensure system engineering communities support delivery milestones
Propose network adoption plans application design and management and monitoring to include potential hosting in a cloud environment
Tracks and advisesdesign trades and associated cost schedule and technical impacts to requirements
Supports design interpretation and analysis of technical solutions to complex discipline-specific testing
Translate complex ideas and data into simple actionable recommendations or easily differentiated courses of action
Communicate clearly concisely and with technical accuracyoral and written
Required Qualifications
- Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience
- An applicable engineering degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or possess a Professional Engineering license
- MA/MS/ME degree
- Experience with DoD acquisition to include documentation generation presentation preparation and supporting programmatic-focused discussions
- Proven experience and/or qualifications in requirements development for the DoD or IC
- Knowledge of space system engineering development and manufacturing
- Experience in network design optimization and security in a classified and unclassified environment
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP DNS etc.) routing and switching network security virtualization and cloud computing
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively
- Experience in DoD program management including program development and transition
- Experience monitoring network performance identifying and resolving issues and performing regular maintenance tasks like software updates and security patches.
- Experience creating network blueprints selecting appropriate hardware and software and overseeing the setup of new networks or network expansions
- Understanding of operational environment and corresponding mission user needs Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)
Desired Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with SAP and/or SCI
- Experience with network architecture for space vehicles and/or space ground systems
- System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program office
- Experience with rapid prototyping and transition to operations
- Experience with integrated air space and cyberspace capabilities
- Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs
- Fluency with IC organizations
- Experience working in multiple classification environments and implementing cross-domain solutions
- Experience with online collaboration tools such as Confluence SharePoint and JIRA
- Experience with cloud computing tools such as VMware Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
- Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility (no less than 2 years total SAP and/or SCI environment experience with 1-year total within last 5 years) and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph
- Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment
- Full-time on site in vicinity of Kirtland AFB NM and will require travel up to 30% of time within the continental United States
