To qualify you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
Licenses & Certifications:
o Valid drivers license.
o Must pass the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1582 physical and entry-level agility test.
o Certification in Firefighter I & II Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations (IFSAC accredited).
o Additional certification may be required based on department needs per AFMAN 32-2003 standards.
Physical Fitness: Must maintain compliance with NFPA 1582 standards and actively participate in physical fitness programs.

Working Conditions & Requirements
Work in extreme conditions including fire toxic gases high heat confined spaces and hazardous materials.
Exposure to adverse weather and potential travel by military aircraft or vehicle.
Subject to mandatory overtime varying shifts and recall during emergencies.
Participation in continuous training and certification programs.
Must maintain a security clearance per Air Force regulations.
Drug Testing: The selected candidate must pass a drug screening.
Background Check: A National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) is required per Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).

What You Will Do
As a Firefighter with the Adjutant Generals Department you will be responsible for responding to airport/aircraft rescue and firefighting emergencies suppressing fires and providing emergency medical services. Your work will require quick thinking teamwork and adherence to strict safety standards to protect lives property and critical military infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
Emergency Response: Respond to aircraft and structural fires hazardous material incidents medical emergencies and spills. Follow tactical procedures to suppress fires perform rescues and protect evidence of fire causes.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain fire trucks crash rescue vehicles self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) hoses nozzles power and hand tools and other fire suppression equipment.
Training & Readiness: Attend and participate in required fire protection training first aid CPR confined space rescue and other technical programs. Work in compliance with Air Force and National Guard fire protection regulations.
Station & Safety Duties: Conduct facility inspections maintain fire detection systems issue permits and ensure compliance with local state and federal safety regulations. Participate in an ongoing physical fitness program.
