About the opportunity
As a Senior Lecturer Midwifery with a strong background in midwifery education this senior leadership position will contribute to the educational preparation of midwives in the Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery. A key focus of this position is the development and leadership of midwifery curriculum and Midwife Experience Placements aimed at expanding Tasmanias and Australias Midwifery workforce.
This position also involves health services research and/or innovation in learning and teaching to improve the health outcomes of Tasmanians. You will assist in developing a positive culture that enables high levels of collaboration and productivity to support the vision of the University to deliver Midwifery education and research with high impacts for Tasmania. The position will be available as full-time or part-time.
What youll do:
- Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
- Provide leadership within the School of Nursing in developing and delivering a high-quality Postgraduate Diploma level curriculum and supporting students working in practice.
- Deliver high-quality scholarly teaching in online and simulation laboratory coursework.
- For Level C Balanced (PhD applicant) undertake high-quality research of national and increasingly international standing secure external competitive and other funding publish research findings and contribute to the successful supervision of research higher degree students in order to meet and regularly exceed the Universitys research performance expectations.
- A Teaching Intensive (Masters applicant) will undertake high-quality teaching innovation and develop national and international partnerships.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective partnerships within the University as well as locally and nationally with the discipline relevant interdisciplinary domains profession industry and the wider community.
What were looking for:
- A good record of and continuing commitment to research that has made worthwhile contributions to the field of Midwifery demonstrated by a record of quality publications presentations at conferences and preferably success in securing external competitive and other funding.
- Experience in University-level teaching and learning especially in areas related to Midwifery pre-registration curricula.
- A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive partnerships locally and nationally with the discipline profession industry (where relevant) and the wider community.
- Demonstrated high achievement in University-level curriculum development using flexible and innovative blended learning & teaching andragogy employing practical demonstration simulation-based education and digital technologies.
- Experience delivering high quality coursework learning and demonstrated leadership in learning & teaching activity including unit coordination quality assurance reviews and best practice assessment targeted to course learning outcomes.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline profession industry and the wider community.
- Strong clinical experience relevant to a midwife.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184076 comprising base salary within the range of $138536 to $157330 plus 17% superannuation.
