Description Of Job Duties
Maintain confidentiality regarding students academic performance and personal challenges by abiding by FERPA regulations. Assist students in understanding complex physical therapy concepts and materials through tutoring skill checks supplemental instruction or classroom support as appropriate. Work closely with faculty members to align peer interactions through tutoring skill checks supplemental instruction or classroom support with course objectives and requirements. Provide feedback to faculty regarding common areas of difficulty among students. Serve as a mentor and role model promoting a positive and collaborative learning environment. Provide encouragement and motivation to peers as they build confidence in their knowledge and skills. Foster a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help including facilitating open communication with students to understand their specific needs. Encourage the use of effective study techniques such as active learning methods group discussions and practice scenarios. Guide students in organizing their study schedules and managing their time effectively.
Job Qualifications
Must be a student enrolled in the DPT Program at North Central College Must demonstrate understanding of sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic socio-economic race ethnicity gender identity sexual orientation age mental or physical disability and religious background of all students faculty and staff and with all individuals encountered in the performance of required duties Must be able to maintain confidentiality for all interactions with peers
