Join Amazons Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Innovation Lab in Vercelli Italy as a MSP CX Sr. Test Engineer where youll be at the forefront of revolutionizing Amazons fulfillment technology. As the principal technical authority for testing and validation youll shape the future of automated solutions that impact millions of customer experiences worldwide. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with state of the art robotics and automation systems while leading critical testing initiatives that ensure the reliability and performance of next-generation fulfillment technologies.
In this pivotal position youll leverage your expertise in mechatronics robotics and test methodologies to drive innovation and excellence across the MSP organization. Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Test Engineer in Amazons MSP Innovation Lab you will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies for innovative automation solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in establishing validation frameworks and implementing robust test methodologies that ensure the reliability of complex mechatronic systems. Youll design and conduct sophisticated system-level experiments leveraging Six Sigma principles and failure mode analyses to validate new technologies.
In this role youll architect data-driven test automation solutions while leading technical risk assessments and quality initiatives. Your responsibilities extend to mentoring technical teams fostering knowledge transfer and driving operational excellence through standardized procedures and performance optimization strategies. Youll collaborate with international teams to establish and maintain testing standards across Europe and globally.
As the principal technical authority for testing and validation youll work closely with cross-functional teams and leadership influencing product development from concept to deployment. Your ability to analyze system performance drive continuous improvement and communicate technical findings effectively will be essential to the success of Amazons automation initiatives.
- Bachelors degree in Mechatronics Robotics Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with relevant experience in test engineering and validation
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technical projects in mechatronics or robotics systems including hardware integration software controls and system validation
- Expert knowledge of test methodologies failure mode analysis (PFMEA FTA) and ability to develop comprehensive test strategies
- Strong background in data analysis and performance metrics with experience implementing test automation solutions and analyzing system performance
- Proven track record of leading and influencing cross-functional teams including experience working with senior leadership up to Director level
- Experience developing and implementing scalable testing processes including documentation of procedures best practices and technical specifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills with complex mechatronic systems and ability to drive root cause analysis
- Demonstrated experience mentoring technical teams and driving technical optimization initiatives
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel within EU and internationally as needed with experience working in R&D laboratory environments (up to 25%)
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification with demonstrated experience applying DMAIC methodology and advanced statistical analysis tools in complex mechatronic/robotics testing environments
- Experience with automation testing frameworks and data analytics platforms including the ability to develop test scripts and analyze large datasets to identify performance patterns and anomalies in robotic systems
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional testing initiatives for complex mechatronic systems including development of comprehensive test plans failure mode analyses (PFMEA/FTA) and technical documentation that influenced product design decisions
- Advanced knowledge of CAD software and process simulation tools with experience using these to optimize test scenarios and validate mechanical/electrical system interactions
- Experience managing testing laboratories and establishing scalable testing processes including development of standard operating procedures test methodologies and quality control mechanisms
- Multi-lingual communication skills (English Italian preferred) with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders including experience preparing executive-level technical presentations and reports
