Responsibilities
Health Research Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Specialist to work within The Department of Health Charles D. Cook Office of Rural Health Center for Health Care Policy and Resource Development Office of Primary Care and Health Systems Management. This position will be located in Albany NY.
Lack of access to care in rural communities and infectious disease outbreaks posed capacity issues as exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally there were other factors that caused a variation in community response including misinformation regarding mitigation efforts and vaccine confidence. The incumbent will contribute to the development of evaluation design of rural health programs help to develop and administer data collection tools review evaluation data and prepare summary reports. The evaluation tool will include measures that will determine how communities served by rural health networks were able to react to infectious disease outbreaks specific local issues mitigation efforts and techniques that were employed and future capacity for effective infectious disease outbreak prevention and response. Evaluation findings will help to inform future policy and programmatic direction.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience within a health public health education human services community-based organization or institutional setting; OR two years of experience in administrative personnel fiscal or other related operational activity; OR a related bachelors degree.
Preferred Qualifications
A Masters degree in Public Health Epidemiology Social or Behavioral Sciences or a related field. Experience in rural health. Experience in collection and management of program data for evaluation purposes. Experience in data analysis using SAS R SPSS Excel and/or other analytical and data management tools. Experience with preparing draft reports.
Conditions of Employment
Hourly grant funded position expected to last through 9/1/25. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting grant deliverables and contract deliverables is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel up to 25% may be required.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York New Jersey Connecticut Vermont or Massachusetts prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
