Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Java Developerto join our team. Youll design and implement robust integration solutions for financial services clients working primarily with Quarkus Temporal workflows and Kubernetes. This role combines integration expertise with application development requiring someone who can build both the integration flows and the business logic that powers them.
Youll work on client projects in small teams of 2 engineers collaborating within our broader 10 person engineering team to deliver solutions that connect financial systems seamlessly.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement integration solutions using Java and Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs)
- Work with Temporal work queues to orchestrate complex financial processes
- Develop database interactions using Java and Quarkus abstractions
- Develop solutions for SWIFT messaging protocols and secure financial integrations
- Collaborate with DevOps team for application deployment and infrastructure management
- Work with Kubernetes environments to understand application deployment
- Monitor your application performance and optimize distributed architectures
- Work closely with project partners on client implementations* Maintain technical documentation and support team learning initiatives
- Share knowledge and best practices within the engineering team
- Ensure compliance with security standards (TLS GDPR PCI DSS)
- Configure applications using YAML files and Helm charts
- Maintain your own development environment and troubleshoot deployment issues
- Ensure seamless system-to-system communication and data transformation
- Implement transaction management and resolve persistence-related issues
- Build application logic and business features that support integration processes
Requirements:
Must-Have Skills
- 5 years of Java development experience with strong proficiency in Spring Boot or Quarkus
- CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab CI ArgoCD)
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python
- Database development through Java abstractions (PostgreSQL Oracle)
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Deep integration expertise with Apache Camel and Enterprise Integration Patterns
- Experience with financial messaging protocols (SWIFT ISO 20022)
- Infrastructure and monitoring tools (Ansible Terraform Prometheus Grafana ELK stack)
- Financial services background or fintech experience
- Exposure to Drools rule engine
- Security frameworks knowledge (TLS SSL NIST ISO 27001)
- Kubernetes and containerization experience (Docker Helm EKS/OpenShift/GKE/AKS)
- Temporal framework experience - building workflows activities and working with work queues
