Although MC remains the primary vendor to MFL it operates in a highly competitive environment with demands of flexibility in delivery reduced lead times and perpetual cost pressure from low cost manufacturers (domestic & global). Further with the brands venturing into shorter product lifecycles and new product categories expectations from MC to align itself to the changing business environment of MFL has increased. Thus MC has to constantly reinvent itself in all parameters of Quality Cost and Delivery. The Sourcing structure in MFL enables brands to source from anywhere in view of competitive advantage. The requirement of having standalone profitable operations of manufacturing within MFL thus demands high level of productivity and resource management.
