PANDA is Australias only national perinatal mental health helpline. We walk alongside parents and families through pregnancy and the first year of parenthood a time of profound change joy and challenge. Our free phone and online services provide mental health support informed by clinical expertise evidence and the powerful voices of people with lived experience.
About the role
Were looking for a compassionate Peer Practitioners to join our multidisciplinary team. Drawing on your own lived experience of perinatal mental health challenges youll provide phone-based peer support that helps parents and families feel truly heard understood and less alone.
In this role youll:
- Offer phone-based peer support sharing hope and connection through your lived experience.
- Provide intake triage psychoeducation and help connect families with resources.
- Maintain accurate client records and contribute to data collection.
- Collaborate closely with clinicians counsellors and volunteers to ensure holistic support.
- Participate in training resource development and professional growth activities.
What were looking for
Essential:
- Personal lived experience of perinatal mental health challenges with insight into your journey and recovery.
- Strong communication skills empathy and a commitment to person-centred culturally safe support.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Comfort with admin tasks and using data systems (and MS Office).
- Passion for supporting diverse parents and families through their mental health journey.
Desirable:
- Experience providing peer support in a mental health or community setting (formal or informal).
- Knowledge of perinatal mental health intake or triage processes.
- Interest in education or contributing to mental health resources.
Remote role essentials
- This is a remote role work from home anywhere in Australia.
- Youll need a safe private home office with reliable internet a desk and an adjustable chair. Well supply you with a secure PANDA laptop.
- Current Working With Children and criminal record checks are required.
