Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Director Innovation & Building Science this position provides training in innovation practices processes systems and tools that drive creativity improve performance and foster the development of new products and solutions. This position provides a foundation for the candidate to build on previously learned skills to advance to other available positions throughout the company based on availability. Candidates with 0-5 years of experience in an industrial setting will be considered. Experience in engineering material science physics or similar areas is beneficial. The position may also be filled through a staffing agency when necessary.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):
- Adaptive and responsive to changing priorities and committed to providing timely and accurate results.
- Actively engage with colleagues and managers to facilitate tasks objectives and timelines.
- Contribute to a safe injury-free work environment.
- Domestic travel up to 35% to plants jobsites and other related locations.
- Support as directed innovation efforts to evaluate new product or system concepts as well as similar projects already in the development pipeline.
- Develop assessments and stage -gate documentation as directed for new technologies new concepts or systems outside idea inquiries and new product development projects.
- Facilitate or participate in customer engagements innovation team activities plant and jobsite trials.
- Support the internal software and document systems for organization and ease of search.
- Grow personal skills related to innovation practices and activities.
- Grow overall knowledge of the industry various building materials and construction practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelors degree in engineering materials science or a related field.
- Construction Innovation Project Management or Industrial experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and teamwork across different departments and levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication with an understanding of planning and work organization.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
- A hands-on mindset with a can-do attitude is necessary with the ability and willingness to work in a dynamic environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to maintain an orderly and safe workplace.
- Ability to consistently work in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation with all internal as well as external constituents.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ineligible for hybrid work
Competitive Salary with a general salary range of $57792.00 to $72240.00 or higher depending on education and experience.
