Summary
The Brotherhood Crusade Life Skills & Entrepreneur Trainer will engage with Youth enrolled in our YouthSource Center. The incumbent will be charged to train and provide a classroom setting where reinforcement of positive and appropriate behavior is practiced. This would include providing a curriculum that fosters creativity critical thinking problem solving decision making and the ability to effectively communicate along with personal and social responsibility that will contribute to good citizenship.
Essential Jon Functions
1. Instruct beginning intermediate advanced and intensive job preparation and continuation classes using the Brotherhood Crusade Self Actualization Jr. Executive Workforce Development Program Power (Life) Skills for Vocational Success Taking Financial Control Ubuntu Experience Accenture Skills to Succeed and other approved curricula. These classes shall target Disconnected Opportunity and otherwise disenfranchised 1424-year-old South Los Angeles County youth and young adults and are mandatory for program participants.
2. Develop beginning intermediate advanced and intensive job preparation and continuation curricula as appropriate. The classes shall include a mainstreaming component that simulates employer expectations in a real workforce setting such that the participants experience and are held accountable to these life lessons.
3. Execute formal agreements with and between the youth/young adult their parent or guardian (as appropriate) and Brotherhood Crusade outlining the terms and conditions of program participation (including weekly attendance at the beginning intermediate advanced and intensive job preparation life skills and entrepreneurship classes) and the roles and responsibilities of each concerned/interested party.
4. Develop and maintain database and statistics that directly relate to participant progress with respect to their learning goals and objectives as required by our funding partners and delineated in the Brotherhood Crusade Workforce Development Evaluation and Learning Protocol.
5. Maintain requisite records of youth and young adults as it relates to their instructional progress and matriculation through the learning objectives identified in their individual-specific youth development plan.
6. Develop facilitate and provide pre-employment and post-employment workshops and professional development opportunities.
7. Create develop and instruct curricula that addresses issues identified by the Job Placement Liaison or Job Developer such that the youth and young adults continue to develop and improve their workplace skills and behaviors and are well positioned to consistently exceed employer expectations.
8. Instruct the training curriculum of employment partners as appropriate
9. Prepare youth for entrepreneurial opportunities that may be presented by stakeholders corporate or foundation partners
10. Prepare and conduct training sessions for according to a prepared plan alternating entrepreneurship classes as required
11. Specify relevant curriculum to specific age/level groups and provide relevant technical inputs to enter the job market.
12. Coach young people with developing viable micro-entrepreneurship ideas and help them develop an introductive business plan;
13. Collaborate and coordinate with other departments for participant referrals
$70000 - $80000 a year
Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California Drivers License.
Due to our in-person and in office work with LAUSD City of LA County of LA and other work partners that require our team to be vaccinated we require that all potential candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated with either Pfizer Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED
The successful candidate will be required to report to and work from the office complex at least five days a week. Offices are traditionally equipped with computers telephones desks chairs and office machines. Additionally each office offers an instructional classroom from which orientations and trainings are conducted.
SALARY RANGE:
Benefits and salary will be negotiated based on experience education and the needs of the program.

This program is unique in that the successful candidate may be working with individuals who heretofore have never been exposed to the subject matter and as such may not readily adopt the precepts or methodologies. Moreover these clients may exhibit stress-related emotions such as tension frustration and anger. The successful candidate must understand this phenomenon and possess a psychologically stable profile and a demeanor that minimizes the opportunity that these emotions will escalate to conflict.

Must be available to work Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 9:00am 5:30pm and Wednesday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm
