Job Summary
The Morini and Alves Laboratories at the Center for Genomic Medicine Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to support ongoing translational research focused on developing gene editing and pharmacological therapies for Familial Dysautonomia (FD) a rare neurodegenerative disorder.
The successful candidate will play a key role in testing novel gene editing approaches and small-molecule compounds in a mouse model of FD. This includes conducting efficacy studies genotyping tissue processing behavioral assays and molecular biology techniques such as qPCR Western blotting and RNA analysis.
We are looking for a results-driven team-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented self-motivated and comfortable working independently at the bench. A background or strong interest in neuroscience human genetics and/or therapeutic development is highly desirable. Prior experience with mouse handling and colony management is strongly preferred.
