About Northside:
Williamsburg Northside School is a private progressive institution located in Williamsburg Brooklyn serving children toddlers through 6 years old (toddlers 2s 3s PreK and Kindergarten). Stemming from the Reggio roots planted in its long-running infant and toddler program Northside takes a decidedly student-centric approach to learning that puts autonomy self-discovery and iterative practice front and center. It blends a robust project-based environment with the most innovative and proven curricular approaches worldwide.
Position Overview: Full-time (8:00-4:00/Monday-Friday)
As a Head Teacher at Northside you will play a crucial role in providing toddlers a safe stimulating and loving environment. You will have the opportunity to create a warm and engaging atmosphere where infants can explorelearn and grow through play interaction and age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities:
Led a teaching team of two assistant teachers and guided them in their use of differentiated instructional strategies facilitating in student-centered learning activities and growing to be an integral member of a professional learning community
Crafting a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is rooted in the students curiosities and interests (Reggio Emilia Approach)
As Northside is an inclusive setting head teachers must differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Collaborating with enrichment specialists for a variety of projects (e.g. art music world language)
Collaborating with our DEI team to facilitate developmentally appropriate lessons related to a variety of topics and cultural celebrations
Working collaboratively with Administrators to set goals for growth and actively work towards meeting these objectives
Actively participating in a positive school culture through shared responsibilities attending regular faculty meetings special events and professional development training
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent certification with a study plan for
Associates in Early Childhood Education
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
Previous experience working with infants in a childcare or educational setting.
Strong knowledge of infant development and early childhood education principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience creativity and a genuine love for working with children
Knowledge of the Reggio Approach (or project-based learning) preferred
Must meet the Department of Education and Department of Health qualifications as specified in its policy
manual (background check & fingerprinting
