Description
The Associate Security Analyst supports the monitoring investigation and response to security incidents across Cloud5s infrastructure and client environments. This entry-level role works under the guidance of senior analysts to ensure systems are secure alerts are triaged and vulnerabilities are addressed. This is a remote role available to applicants based in the continental U.S.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM and other tools
- Triage and escalate potential threats according to playbooks
- Assist in incident investigations and documentation
- Support vulnerability scans and patch management efforts
- Maintain up-to-date records of tickets incidents and system statuses
Qualifications
- 12 years of IT or cybersecurity experience or relevant education
- Familiarity with network and endpoint security concepts
- Understanding of firewalls antivirus and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience with SIEM platforms or security tools is a plus
WORK CONDITIONS
- Remote work with on-call availability as needed
- May require after-hours support for critical incident response
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer
- Able to communicate effectively and document project updates accurately
- Capable of managing multiple administrative and coordination tasks simultaneously
