Job Description

BryceTech is currently looking for an Explosives Safety Specialist. This position will be supporting The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center known as DEVCOM CBC. This role will conduct explosives-safety surveys and develop safety measures to support government leads.

The Person in this role will:

  • Conduct explosives-safety site surveys in compliance with DA Pam 385-64 and AR 385-32 to evaluate hazards and distances.
  • Prepare site survey reports facility-clearance documentation and Quantity-Distance (QD) analyses.
  • Review storage handling and transportation procedures for energetic materials ensuring safe operations.
  • Coordinate with EOD teams range managers and regulatory agencies on safety measures and compliance.
  • Analyze site layouts to optimize safety buffer zones minimize risks and support mission requirements.
  • Develop and deliver explosives-safety training courses briefings and certification programs.
  • Investigate incidents involving munitions or explosives document root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Advise on security controls access procedures and inventory management for explosive stocks.
  • Maintain centralized records of inspections certifications and corrective-action tracking.
  • Update safety regulations policies and technical guidance based on emerging threats and best practices.

Qualifications :

The experience and certification requirements listed below are essential to successfully perform the tasks above:

 

  • Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering Chemistry or related field.
  • Completion of Department of Defense explosives-safety certification courses.
  • Minimum of 2 years of explosives-safety or munitions management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of explosives regulations risk assessment methods and QD criteria.
