Job Description

N.B This is a Fixed Term Contract until 31 December 2026.

Were looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Permitting Coordinator to join our Sakatti Environment and Permitting Team. In this vital role youll be responsible for managing the scheduling coordination and documentation of all permitting activities ensuring we meet both Finnish regulatory requirements and our own high internal standards. Core Responsibilities (amongst others):   

  • Promote a strong safety culture by applying health and safety principles and acting as a role model for zero harm.
  • Coordinate permitting activities ensuring deadlines are met and third-party progress aligns with project schedules.
  • Translate permit conditions into actionable tasks and maintain a comprehensive permitting register.
  • Draft review and manage regulatory submissions environmental reports and audit-ready documentation.
  • Liaise with consultants regulatory bodies and internal teams to support permit acquisition and data collection.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement processes including community and authority interactions.
  • Contribute to permitting strategies risk identification and integration into broader project planning.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in environmental permitting or regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of Finnish environmental legislation and permitting processes
  • Strong understanding of permit conditions and compliance pathways
  • Familiarity with GIS data and systems is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy in drafting memos reports and documentation.
  • Fluent in Finnish
  • Advanced English required (Written Reading Spoken)
