The Medical Coordinator is a vital team member. This role is crucial for providing high-quality organized and patient-centered healthcare services while supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Dungarvins services. Most importantly the MC is crucial to the well-being of the people we serve. If you have experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) this role would be a great fit for you!
What Youll Do:
- Schedule: Full-time Monday - Friday in Olympia/Lacey.
- Maintain Medical Records: Ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Appointment Management: Review medical appointment summary forms and take proactive follow-up actions including scheduling appointments reviewing upcoming appointments and developing a monitoring tracker. Provide assistance during medical appointments as needed.
- Medication Oversight: Thoroughly review new or changed medications in accordance with policies.
- Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with the Nursing Department DDA Pharmacy and medical professionals. Collaborate with the Program Coordinator for timely updates to individual medical documentation.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor health trends promptly report concerns or changes to the Program Coordinator for collaborative planning and make recommendations based on observed trends.
- Training and Development: Develop and implement training for DSPs/caregivers in medical-related areas and conduct re-training sessions as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop and maintain expert knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical needs guidelines laws etc. in the supported living field.
- Participation in Meetings/Trainings: Participate in meetings trainings and client assessments to provide guidance on medical-related matters.
- Abuse/Neglect Reporting: Adhere to guidelines and promptly report suspicions of abuse neglect or exploitation.
- Medical Tracking: Update and maintain accurate medical tracking information.
- Flexibility and Additional Responsibilities: Perform other assigned duties to contribute to overall role effectiveness.
Qualifications :
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- High School equivalent and 2 years medically based field experience; or
- Associates Degree and 1-year field experience; or
- Certified Medical Assistant License (CMA) and 1-year field experience; or
- Certified Nursing Assistant License (CNA) and 1-year field experience; and
