Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technician

PositionOverview:
Veterans Engineering is seeking dedicated ElectrocardiographTechnicians to support the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System(VAGLAHS) serving both inpatient and outpatient veteran populations. This isan exciting opportunity to contribute to patient-centered care within a dynamicclinical environment.
KeyResponsibilities:
Perform electrocardiographic testing including resting ECGs exercise stress tests and ambulatory monitoring for inpatient and outpatientveterans.
Carry a pager and respond promptly to calls forECG services at both the West Los Angelesand Sepulveda locations.
Evaluate ECG results make necessary equipmentadjustments and alert providers to abnormal findings.
Adapt equipment and accessories to meet patientneeds while ensuring safety and comfort.
Protect patient health information in accordancewith HIPAA and VA policies.
Monitor vital signs during diagnostic proceduresand report abnormalities to the clinical team.
Explain testing procedures to patients to reduceanxiety and encourage cooperation.
Observe data systems during cardiovascularimaging and maintain continuous patient monitoring.
Document patient information medical historyand test results accurately.
Perform routine equipment checks minor repairsand notify Biomedical Engineeringas necessary.
Deliver high-quality customer service with acommitment to patient-centered carepractices.
WorkHours:
Normaltour of duty: 0730 to 1600 Monday through Friday.
All federal holidays are observed.
Each technician working an 8-hour shift willreceive two (2) 15-minute breaksand one (1) 30-minute meal breakper shift.
Tours ofduty will not exceed 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in ECG testing within aclinical or hospital setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability towork with diverse veteran populations.
Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patientprivacy practices.
Experience in vital signs monitoring and medicalequipment maintenance preferred.
Must be able to work at both assigned VAlocations when required.
